Head Analyst

Adrian is the Head Analyst for Thorpe Abbotts Capital. As a research analyst, Adrian researches and evaluates investment ideas for the fund. He also contributes to the firm by developing proprietary models and statistical analyses that help the team make better and more informed decisions.

Adrian received his MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. He also holds a master’s degree in finance from the School of Economics of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Tecnológico de Monterrey.

He joined Thorpe Abbotts as part of his MBA internship in 2019. During his time at Darden, Adrian was the Senior Portfolio Manager of Darden Capital Management’s Jefferson Fund, where he led a team of four second-year MBA students and had full discretion over a concentrated, all-cap, high-quality, value-oriented, $4.3 million equity portfolio. Prior to Darden, Adrian was an Equity Data Management Associate at MSCI, where he was responsible for implementing intra-rebalance changes to the equity indices resulting from corporate actions for all index constituents across North and South America. Adrian began his professional career as a Strategic Planning Analyst at Viakable, the largest wire and cable manufacturer in Mexico, where his responsibilities included evaluating critical M&A and CapEx investments.

Adrian was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico, and he remains a loyal Club de Fútbol Tigres fan. He enjoys cooking, particularly open-air grilling and bike touring.
